Recognizing Excellence Beyond AccreditationÂ
The Blue Ribbon Programs of Distinction (PoD) initiative provides APPLE accredited schools with the opportunity to be recognized for exceptional practices that go beyond core accreditation standards.
These distinctions honor programs that demonstrate:
- Best practices in specialized areas
- Measurable impact on children and families
- A commitment to continuous improvement
Blue Ribbon PoD schools serve as models of excellence, helping to elevate quality across the early childhood education field.
Eligibility & Key Details
- Open to any APPLE accredited school in good standing
- Schools may apply at any time throughout the year through their Member Dashboard
- Each designation is valid for one year following Commission approval
- Programs may renew for one additional year (maximum of two years total)
- Renewal requires an Attestation of Continued Implementation
- Schools may pursue multiple PoDs at one time and may hold multiple distinctions at one time
