Home-based early learning programs play a vital role in supporting children and families by providing nurturing environments, individualized attention, and strong relationships that help children learn and thrive.
APPLE Accreditation offers Family Child Care Homes and Large Family Child Care Homes in Florida the opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to quality through a nationally recognized accreditation process focused on continuous improvement and excellence.
Who is Eligible?
To apply for APPLE Accreditation, a Family Child Care Home or Large Family Child Care Home must provide:
- Proof of current licensure in the state of Florida
- Proof of insurance
- Staff/provider credentials and training records
- An example of their program’s daily schedule
- Health & safety policies
- Parent handbook or evidence of family communication materials
How It Works
The FCCH process includes:
1. FACCM Membership
Required for all accredited programs.
- $145 per year
2. Initial Orientation/Candidacy Visit
3. Accreditation Application & Verification Fee
$405 (one-time non-refundable fee) + $755 (one-time non-refundable fee) = $1,160 total
4. Family Home Care Cohort Meetings
A maximum of eight (8) cohort meetings led by APPLE Accreditation Staff
5. Portfolio Submission
Providers will develop their accreditation portfolio during the course of the eight-month meeting window and submit a completed portfolio by the conclusion of the eight-month window.
6. Verification Visit
Schedule once your portfolio is complete and submitted.
7. Accreditation Award by APPLE Accreditation Commission
Following the verification visit, a program’s accreditation recommendation will be presented to the APPLE Accreditation Commission during the next viable APPLE Accreditation Commission meeting.
Programs that successfully demonstrate compliance with APPLE Accreditation standards may be awarded an initial three-year term of APPLE Accreditation.
